Letzter Tag desWorkshops. Juhani, Kuzal und einige andere machen sich auf den Weg, um den Videoclip zum Hiphopsong zu drehen. Der Vormittag geht damit drauf, alle Module zu einem guten Ende zu bringen. Der Schmetterlingtanz ist toll. Am Nachmittag kommt Nicos Videoteam, sie machen Fernsehstimmung, Interviews werden gemacht und die Kinder malen ganz brav am Tisch. Um 4 Uhr ist die Abschlusspräsentation. Die macht dann allen wirklich grossen Spass.

Dieter Ernst, Projektkoordinator des Kinderheimes und eigentlich Kinderarzt in Mannheim, ist happy. Kurz vorher war er noch so unglücklich über all die kleinen Dinge die so schief gehen bei der Leitung einer solchen Einrichtungen (das hat personelle Folgen...) Bei Kuzals Song klatschen alle mit.

Bye Bye. Jetzt reisen wir ab, und die Kinder sind das schon gewohnt irgendwie, dieses Kommen und Gehen der Erwachsenen. Aber die Trauer in den Augen einiger tut weh...

Ich hab eine Idee: Wie wäre es, wenn wir alle morgen früh zusammen einen Ausflug machen, zum Nationalmuseum, die schönen Khmer Figuren anschauen, jugendliche Götter und Göttinnen der Schönheit. Dr. Ernst ist begeistert.

Am Abend hat Nico auf der Dachterasse des METAHOUSE zum Roundtalk eingeladen: WHAT IS BANYAN PROJECT?

Meine Erklärungen werden ins Kambodianisch übersetzt, aber werden sie auch verstanden? Die jungen Künstler und Kunststudenten können glaube ich nicht allzuviel anfangen mit meinem konzeptionellen Kunstansatz. Bilder müssen schön, und Kaffeesatz ist ein guter Trick, um Malereien älter aussehen zu lassen. Es gibt Hotdogs an diesem Abend, und das ist auch schonmal was.

Ein interessantes Gespräch mit einem Malereiprofessor der Phnom Penh Kunsthochschule. Er klagt über die Verkaufsmöglichkeiten... Ausser den Touristen kauft hier niemand was. Er kann sich mit seinem Professorengehalt von 60 $ pro Monat gerade so über Wasser halten. Wie schafft er das bloss? Die Studenten lieben ihn.
