In April 2007, THE BANYAN PROJECT visited Cambodia the first time. Workshops took place at the orphanages NFC Phnom Penh and Wat Opot (orphanage for H.I.V. positive and negatives children and young people) in Takeo, based on artworks from Africa, Europe, America, Asia and the Pacific. The popular Cambodian artist Srey Bandol contributed two of his drawings to the project, they where remixed by students in Guyana, South-America. See all of this in the exhibition at Metahouse.
The space of the Metahouse, a center for Art and Films, run by the German filmmaker Nicolas Mesterharm, are mutch smaller than the National Museum in Bangkok.
We select the artworks, which have been used here two years ago in our workshops with children and young people. And we selected also some works, which fit to this place and the country.

Im April 2007 besuchte das Banyan Project Cambodia zum ersten Mal. Es fanden Workshops in den Kinderheimen NFC Phnom Penh und Wat Opot (Heim für H.I.V. positive und negative Kinder und Jugendliche) in Takeo statt, sie basierten auf den Kunstwerken aus Afrika, Europa, Amerika, Asien und aus dem Pazifikraum. The bekannte Kambodianische Künstler Srey Bandol beteiligte sich mit zwei Zeichnungen an dem Projekt, sie wurden von Studenten in Guyana in Südamerika "remixed", interpretiert. All dies zeigt die Ausstellung im Metahouse.
Die Räume des Metahouse, ein Zentrum für Kunst und Film, geleitet von dem deutschen Filmemacher Nicolas Mesterharm, sind wesentlich kleiner als das Nationalmuseum in Bangkok.
Wir wählten Arbeiten aus, die hier vor zwei Jahren Gegenstand von Workshops mit Kindern und Jugendlichen waren, und einige besonders gut passende weitere Beiträge.
